Crochet Pattern
Materials
1. Fingering weight size 2 yarn in cotton or cotton blend. Premier Yarns Cotton Fair yarn in color Bright Peach was used for the sample.
2. Size D(3.25mm) hook
3. Yarn needle to weave in the ends
Size
Finished size is 20 inches after tying the knot. It will stretch to fit a woman’s head.

ch: chain
st: stitch
sc: single crochet
dc: double crochet
Stitch Explanations
ch-1 space: The gap under a ch-1, skip 1 of the previous row.
lacy shell: (1 dc, ch 1, 1dc, ch 1, 1 dc) all worked into the same st or ch-space
sc2tog: It is a decrease that joins two sts into one. Insert your hook into the first st and pull up a loop, insert your hook into the next st and pull up a loop, YO and pull through all the 3 loops on your hook.
Crochet Headband
With D hook, ch 20.
Row 1: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in next ch, ch 3, sk 3 chs, 1 dc in next, ch 1, sk 1 ch, 1 dc in next, ch 3, sk 3, 1 sc in next, ch 1, sk 1 ch, 1 sc in next, ch 3, sk 3 chs, 1 dc in last 2 chs, turn.
Row 2: ch 1 ( not counted as a st here and throughout), 1 sc in same st as ch 1, ch 3, 1 lacy shell in the ch-1 space between next 2 sc, ch 3, 1 sc in the next ch-1 space between 2 dc, ch 3, (1dc, ch 1, and 1dc) all into the very last sc, turn.
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as a st here and throughout), 1 dc in adjacent ch-1 space between first 2 dc, ch 3, 1 sc in the last ch of the next ch-3 loop, ch 1, sk 1 sc, 1 sc in next ch immediately following the sc, ch 3, 1 dc in the first ch-1 space of the next lacy shell, ch 1, 1 dc in the second ch-1 space of the same lacy shell, ch 3, 1 sc in the last ch of the next ch-3 loop, 1 sc into last sc, turn.
Row 4: Ch 5, 1 dc in same st as ch 5, ch 3, 1 sc in next ch-1 space between 2 dc, ch 3, 1 lacy shell in next ch-1 space between 2 sc, ch 3, 1 sc on top of turning ch-3, turn.
Row 5: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as ch 1, 1 sc in next ch, ch 3, 1 dc in the first ch-1 space of the next lacy shell, ch 1, 1 dc in the second ch-1 pace of the same lacy shell, ch 3, 1 sc in the last ch of the next ch-3 loop, ch 1, sk 1 sc, 1 sc in next ch, ch 3, 1 dc on top of beginning ch 5 and ch 4 of the turning ch, turn.
Repeat rows 2-5 until your headband is approximately 16 inches long.
Starting the Tie
Row 1: Ch 1, 1 sc in each st and ch across, turn.—–19 sts
Row 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in same s as ch 1, sc2tog, 1 sc, sc2tog, 1sc in next 7 sts, sc2tog, 1 sc, sc2tog, 1 sc in last st, turn.——15 sts
Row 3: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as ch 1, 1 sc in each st to end, turn.——15 sts
Row 4: Ch 1, 1 sc in same s as ch 1, sc2tog, 1 sc, sc2tog, 1sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog, 1 sc, sc2tog, 1 sc in last st, turn.——11 sts
Row 5: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as ch 1, 1 sc in each st to end, turn.——–11 sts
Row 6: Ch 1, sc2tog across the same st as ch 1 and the next st, 1 sc in next, sc2tog, 1 sc, sc2tog, 1 sc, sc2tog.—–7 sts
Row 7: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as ch 1, 1 sc in each st to end, turn.—-7 sts
Keep repeating row 7 until your sc part measures 4 1/2 inches.
Bunny Ears
Row 1: ch 1, 1 sc in same st as ch 1, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in last st, turn.—9 sts
Row 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as ch 1, 1 sc in each st to end, turn.—–9 sts
Row 3: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as ch 1, 1 sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next 4 sts, turn.—-10 sts
Row 4 & 5: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as ch 1, 1 sc in each st to end, turn.—–10 sts
Row 6: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as ch 1, sc2tog in next 2 sts, 1 sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog, 1 sc in last st, turn.——8 sts
Row 7: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as ch 1, 1 sc in each st to end, turn.——8 sts
Row 8: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as ch 1, sc2tog in next 2 sts, 1 sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog, 1 sc in last st, turn.——6 sts
Row 9: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as ch 1, 1 sc in each st to end, turn.———6 sts
Row 10: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as ch 1, sc2tog, sc2tog, 1 sc in last st, turn.——4 sts
Row 11: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc2tog, turn. ——2 sts
Row 12: Ch 1, sc2tog, fasten off.
Second Tie and Bunny Ear
Make one more tie and bunny ear on the foundation chain side as follows.
Row 1: Sl st to the first free loop of the foundation chain, ch 1, 1 sc in the same loop as ch 1, 1 sc in each free loop or chain across, turn.——19 sts
Starting from Round 2, repeat the same rows you worked for the first tie and bunny ear, fasten off and weave in the ends.
Wrap the headband around your head, tie a knot and it is ready to wear.
