Original crochet scrubbie pattern – once you do the dishes, unroll the scrubbie, wash, and hang it to dry.
I always use plastic kitchen scrubbies for my non-stick dishes. After a few uses, they start to unravel and then I unroll to clean them and roll them back when dry. That gave me the idea to design this crochet scrubbie free pattern.
I experimented with a mesh stitch since the plastic scrubbie was made from a mesh and it turned out great. It was so much fun to roll and unroll these crochet dish scrubbies that my daughter and husband couldn’t keep their hands off them, lol!
These crochet kitchen scrubbies don’t just look cute but are also very practical. The crochet mesh stitch gives it enough roughness to clean your dishes and once you are done with your cleaning, you can unroll, wash, and dry them easily.
These are the best DIY crochet scrubbies you can make for your kitchen.

Ch 28, without twisting the chain, sl st to the first ch to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 6 ( the first ch counts as a sc), sk 3 chs, 1 sc in next, *( ch 5, sk 3 chs, 1 sc in next), repeat from * to last 3 chs, ch 5, sl st to beginning ch-1. Do not turn. —7 chain loops
1. In the next round, when it says to sc into the next chain loop, you don’t have to work into the ch but into space under the ch-5 loop.
2. When measuring your tube, do not stretch it. Just lay it flat, smooth it out with your palm, and then take the measurement.
Round 2 to End: Sl st into the next 3 chains, *(ch 5, 1 sc in next ch-5 loop), keep repeating from * in a spiral until your mesh tube is around 11-1/2 inches long.
Note: In the last round, we will try to narrow the tube so we can neatly tuck in the last part after rolling.
Last Round: *(1 sc in the next loop directly without chaining, ch 4, sc in next loop), repeat from * 2 more times, sl st into first sc, fasten off.
Finishing the Crochet Scrubbie
You will have 2 tails to weave in. For the beginning tail on the foundation chain side, weave it in along the sl sts since that is where you have enough crochet fabric to hide your tail.
For the last tail left, weave it in behind the 2 sc and sl st at the base of the tail, go down a ch-5 loop, and come back up into the sc sts.
How to Roll the DIY Crochet Scrubbie into Shape
Roll the scrubbie inwards starting from the foundation chain side. Once you reach the other end, just tuck in the narrow part. Watch the video below.
When you want to clean the kitchen scrubbie, just unroll, wash, and hang dry.
Enjoy your new scrubbie!
