Easy Crochet Poncho Pattern from a Rectangle

This popular crochet poncho pattern is made from a rectangle.

You fold the rectangle, leave a neck hole and seam the sides leaving a slit at the arm.

1. Worsted weight(size 4) yarn.  Lion Brand Wool-Ease in color Fisherman was used for the sample poncho. 2. Hook J(6mm). Use any size hook to attain gauge.

Finished Size

 To add shells to the arm slit edge, place a marker at the base of each shell as shown.

Work shells as shown.

When you reach the body of the poncho, work 1 shell per 2 rows.

Attach buttons on the shoulder seam.

And your lovely poncho is ready.
