
Cassandra Cowl Pattern
Welcome Fall in this quick and easy crochet pattern. Worked in a bulky yarn, it lends itself to a multitude of combinations. If you plan on making crocheted items for holiday gifts, this would make a great addition to your inventory. After all, isn’t a handmade gift always unique compared to what you buy from stores? Materials
1. Bulky (size 5) yarn, Loops and Threads Charisma in colors Fuchsia (color A) and Taupe( color B).
2. Hook- P (10 mm)
3. Hook H (5mm) for weaving in the tails
Size
One size fits all women. Finished Scarf is 12 inches wide and 34 inches around.
Gauge
5 hdc st alternating with 5 chains = 5 inches
Yardage
80-90 yards of each color.
Stitch Abbreviations
The pattern is in standard American terms.
hdc- half double crochet
sl st
ch- chain
sk- skip
Pattern
Chain 70, sl st to first ch without twisting the chain.
Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first hdc and ch 1), sk next ch, *(1 hdc in next, ch 1, sk next ch), repeat from * till end, sl st to top of beginning ch-2, pick up the next color B, drop the first color A to pick up later, sl st in to the next ch-space with the new color joined. ———35 hdc
Round 2: Ch 3 with color B (counts as first hdc and ch 1), sk next hdc, * (1 hdc into the next ch-space, ch 1, sk next hdc), repeat from * till end of round, sl st to top of beginning ch-2, pick up color A, drop color B to pick up later, sl st in to the next ch-space with color A. ———35 hdc
Repeat Round 2 above, alternating colors in each round, until your scarf measures 12 inches wide. Fasten off after sl st to top of beginning ch-2 and weave in the tails.
