This design is perfect for Summer. The gaps on the sides make sure you don’t get heated up while the brim keeps the sun off your little ones’ face. It works up really quick once you get into the rhythm of the pattern and you might even be able to skip all the counting. Make the flowers in coordinating colors of your choice, add a contrasting band, add a satin ribbon, the possibilities are just endless.

The pattern is written in standard American terms.

The pattern includes sizes newborn to 10 years.

It is worked using a hook H and worsted weight yarn. I have used Red Heart Super Saver and Loops and Threads Impeccable for my samples but you are free to use any worsted weight cotton for a more breathable hat.

This is a beginner level pattern involving only basic crochet stitches and the pattern gives you options to make the brim wider or shorter as in the picture.

  2. I love this pattern. Very easy to follow and I really love having the multiple sizes. Made a great granddaughter and doll baby duo:)
