Who would like to make this yummy crochet pattern? The crochet doughnut coasters come with a holder to keep them organized. Surprise your guests with this cute set. Crochet Pattern

Materials

1.Worsted weight yarn, cotton is preferred.  Lily Sugar ‘n Cream in colors Hot Blue, Ecru and Yellow were used along with Vanna’s Choice Baby in color Pink Poodle and Soft Taupe from Loops and Threads Impeccable. The holder was made entirely using Lily Sugar ‘n Cream Ecru.

2. Hook H (5mm).

3. Yarn needle to weave in the ends.

Finished Size

Doughnut is 4 1/2 inches in diameter

sc- single crochet

ch-chain

sl st- slip stitch

st-stitch

Gauge 
With H hook, 15 sc= 4 inches

Doughnut Pattern

Notes 

1. You do not turn at the end of rounds.

2. The beginning ch-1 is not counted as a st unless specified otherwise and the last st of the round is worked into the same st as beginning ch-1.

3. The increases have been intentionally staggered to make a perfect circle.


4. The doughnut is worked starting from the center.

Round 1: With the color for the icing, ch 16, sl st to the first ch to form a chain ring, turn, ch 1, 21 sc into ch ring, sl st to the first sc. ———-21 sc

Round 2: Ch 1, *( 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next 2 sts), repeat from * to end, sl st to first sc. ———-28 sc

Round 3: Ch 1, 1 sc in next 2 sts, *(2 sc, 1 sc in next 3 sts), repeat from * until 2 sts left, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in last st, sl st to first sc.——35 sc

Note: The next round is worked only into the front loops. This will leave a round of free loops behind your work as shown below.



Round 4: Ch 1, *( 1 hdc in next 2 sts, 1 dc, 1 hdc in next 2 sts, sl st in next 2 sts), repeat from * and end with a sl st in the same st as beginning ch-1. Fasten off with a 25 inch long tail for sewing.



Round 5: Fold Round 4 up and work into the free loops with brown yarn as shown, sl st into a loop under a hdc or dc, 1 sc in same loop,  *(2 sc in next, 1 sc in next 4 loops), repeat from * until 4 sts left, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in last 3 loops, sl st to first sc.——-42

Round 6: Ch 1, 1 sc in next 3 sts, *(2 sc, 1 sc in next 5 sts), repeat from * until 3 sts left, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in last 2 sts, sl st to first sc. —–49

Round 7: Ch 1,*( 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next 6 sts), repeat from * to end, sl st to first sc.————56

Round 8: Ch 1 ( counts as first sl st), sl st in each st around, sl st to beginning ch-1. Fasten off.

Finishing


1. Weave in the tails left from the outer brown ring. Use the long tail left on the center part to sew it down along the edges with a running stitch. Weave in the rest of the tails.

2. Use two contrasting color yarns to sew on sprinkles.

Round 1: Ch 4, sl st to first ch to  form a chain ring, 7 sc into the  ring, sl st to first sc.———7 sc

Round 2: Ch 1 ( does not count as a st here and throughout), 2 sc in each st around, sl st to first sc.———14 sc

Round 3: Ch 1, *( 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next), repeat from * to end, sl st to first sc.——–21 sc

Round 4: Ch 1, *( 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next 2 sts), repeat from * to end, sl st to first sc. ———-28 sc

Round 5: Ch 1, 1 sc in next 2 sts, *(2 sc, 1 sc in next 3 sts), repeat from * until 2 sts left, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in last st, sl st to first sc.——35 sc

Round 6: Ch 1, 1 sc in next st, *(2 sc in next, 1 sc in next 4 sts), repeat from * until 4 sts left, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in last 3 sts, sl st to first sc.——-42 sc

Round 7: Ch 1, 1 sc in next 3 sts, *(2 sc, 1 sc in next 5 sts), repeat from * until 3 sts left, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in last 2 sts, sl st to first sc. —–49 sc

Round 8: Ch 1,*( 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next 7 sts), repeat from * to end, sl st to first sc.————56 sc

Round 9:  Ch 1, ( 1 sc in next 13 sts, 2 sc in next), repeat from * to end, sl st to first sc.————60 sc

Round 10: Ch 1 ( counts as first sl st here), sl st in each st around, sl st to first sl st.——60 sts

Round 11: Ch 1, inserting your hook only into the sl sts, 1 sc in next st and each st across, sl st to first sc. —–60 sc.

Round 12: Ch 1, 1 sc in next st and each st around, sl st to first sc, turn. —–60 sts.

Round 13: Ch 1 ( counts as a sl st), 1 sl st in each st around, sl st to first sl st, turn.

Round 14: Ch 1, work 1 sc into each of the sc sts one round below, while enclosing the sl sts as you crochet. This will make your holder sturdy. Sl st to first sc, turn. ——60 sts

Repeat Round 13 and 14, one more time.

Next  Round: Ch 1, 1 sc in next st and each st around, sl st to first sc. —–60 sts.

Repeat the above sc Round once more, ch 1 and proceed to work a round of Reverse sc, sl st to first reverse sc. Fasten off. Weave in the ends.
