Crochet Wrap Free Pattern- Simple and Elegant!
This captivating free crochet wrap pattern combines the charm of lacework with the versatility of a sideways construction. This construction method ensures the wrap’s length can be easily customized.
Delicate clusters of stitches come together to form an open, airy pattern that’s both lightweight and luxurious. As you create the wrap pattern, you’ll revel in the joy of seeing the lacework gradually unfold.
To add an extra touch of grace, the wrap is adorned with a simple yet elegant picot border. The picots create a subtle decorative edge that beautifully complements the lacy pattern.
The pattern features a 4-row repeat that works up rapidly. Cascade 220 yarn was used for the shawl, and it has a beautiful stitch definition. You can substitute it with any other yarn of the same thickness.
So grab your yarn and hooks, and let’s get started!

Adding a Border to your Crochet Wrap Pattern
Pattern Notes
1. On the RS of the wrap, you will work a sc row across 3 sides of the shawl to form a base for your border as shown in the picture above.
2. While working the first sc row of the border, take care to work around any tails left along the sides to weave them in as you go.
3. While working across the row ends to distribute your sc sts, work into the beginning chs and not into the gaps under them.
Border Pattern
Row 1: Sl st to the foundation chain side corner where you have the beginning tail, work 2 sc in the corner, and distribute sc sts along the long side of the wrap as evenly as possible. * (I worked 2 sc across each of the next 3 dc row ends and 1 sc across the next sc row end).
Repeat from * to the next corner, 3 sc in the corner, 1 sc in each st across to the last st, 3 sc in the last st, continue distributing sc sts along the long side as before, then fasten off when you reach the next corner.
Row 2: Switch to the smaller 4mm hook.
Working on the same side of the fabric as your previous row, sl st to the same corner you started Row 1, *(ch 5, sl st to the 3rd ch from hook to make a picot, ch 2, sk 2 sts, sl st to next st), repeat from * until you reach near the next corner, if you have one extra st to the corner, you can ch 3 after the picot, sk 3 sts, and then sl st to the corner. If you only have 1 st left before the corner, you can ch 2 after the picot, sk that last st and sl st to the corner.
Now continue to work along the shorter side. Here you will skip 3 sts instead of 2 as the sts are tightly packed. *(Ch 5, sl st to the 3rd ch from hook to make a picot, ch 2, sk 3 sts, sl st to next st), repeat from * until you reach the next corner.
Now again you will go back to skipping 2 sts. *(Ch 5, sl st to the 3rd ch from hook to make a picot, ch 2, sk 2 sts, sl st to next st), repeat from * until you reach the next corner. Fasten off.
Finishing the Wrap
Weave in any tails left.
