This is another one of my patterns in the Puff Stitch Crochet Hats series. I love textured hats and this one is no different. Puff stitches interspersed with front post stitches make these lovely hats unique. I used Lion brand Wool-Ease for the samples, but you can substitute it with any light worsted weight yarn. The hat has a fair amount of elasticity and the design becomes more prominent once you wear the hat on your head.
When I asked my blog readers to help me name this hat, the things they saw in the design were simply mind-boggling. Praying hands, mom’s hugs, migrating birds, and the Tulip garden are some of them that really stood out. I picked the name Tulip Garden Beanie as it has a nice ring to it and sounds cheerful. A big thank you to Jason Samra Adams for suggesting this beautiful name.
The pattern is written in standard American terms.
Any light worsted weight yarn ( size 4 medium) can be used. Lionbrand Wool Ease was used for gauge. Colors used were Fisherman, Seaspray and Grey Heather.
Sizes include Toddler, Child, Preteen to Small Adult and Large Adult.
Hook I (5.5 mm) for Adult and Toddler sizes. Child size is worked using an H (5mm) hook.
One fur pompom. I used a 3 ½ inch one for the child and adult sizes. Toddler size might need a 3 inch pompom. You can find a free tutorial to make a pom-pom for less than a dollar here: Fur Pompom Tutorial
