Border
Pattern Notes
1. The border is worked with cream color yarn.
2. All the rounds of the border are worked on the RS of the blanket.
3. You will continue using the 4.5mm hook for the first 2 rounds of the border and switch to the smaller one for the last 2 rounds.
Round 1: Ch 1 with the cream color yarn joined at the corner and start working along the left edge of your blanket, distribute sc sts evenly to the next corner. I worked 1 sc across the fpdc row and 1 sc across the ch-3 row. At the corner, 2 or 3 sc in the corner based on how many you need to turn the corner, *(1 sc in next 2 chs, 1 sc inserting your hook deep into the post of the next repeat), repeat from * to the next corner, 2/3 sc in the corner, distribute sc sts along the right edge of your blanket until you reach the next corner, 3 sc in the corner, *[1 sc in first 10 sts of the last row (top edge), sc2tog across next 2 sts], repeat from * to last st, 3 sc in last st, sl st to 1st sc on the left side of the blanket. Do not turn.
Round 2: Ch 1, *(1 sc in each st to next corner, 3 sc in the corner), repeat until you work all around, sl st to 1st sc on the side, fasten off.
Round 3: Switch to the smaller F hook. Sl st to the corner right before the point of fastening off, 1 sc in the corner, *(ch 4, sk 2 sts, 1 sc in next st), repeat until you reach near the next corner. If you have only 1 st left before the corner, unravel the previous sc, sk 3 sts after the ch-4 loop and sc2tog across the next 2 sts. If you have 2 sts left before the corner, ch 4, sk 2 sts, 1 sc in the corner. If you have 3 sts left before the corner, sk 3 sts, 1 sc in the corner.
Repeat from * all around your blanket, sl st to 1st sc, do not turn.
Round 4: Sl st into the next ch-4 space, ch 3, 3 dc in the same ch-4 space, *(sc, ch 3, 3 dc)in each ch-4 space across, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
