Puff Stitch Crochet Blanket, a Thick and Warm Pattern
This crochet puff stitch blanket is a no-holes blanket. It is very thick as the puff stitches are tightly packed.
It doesn’t have much drape to it when you work with chunky yarn. So if you don’t like very thick fabric, you can use worsted weight or DK weight yarn. The stitch multiple is given at the beginning of the pattern, but you have to remember to make your chain longer than in this pattern when you are using a thinner yarn.
That said, this is a beautiful puff stitch design that you can incorporate into various projects, such as kitchen accessories, scarves, bags, and beyond! So definitely give it a try.
You can make it in one single color but using 3 colors makes the stitch pattern pop. While the puff stitches may demand a bit more yarn, the results are truly rewarding.

Pattern Notes
1. For convenience, we will call the colors Coral, Cream, and Blue.
2. We will change colors at the end of every row but won’t fasten off the yarn. We will just drop it off to pick it up later. This will reduce the number of tails.
3. You will join the next color at the end of every row while completing your last sc st. To do this, start your sc as usual and when you have 2 loops left on your hook, YO the new color and pull through the 2 loops to complete your sc. Start the new row by making the beginning ch in the new color.
4. You will have 3 skeins attached to your work at a time. To ensure your yarn does not tangle, bring the new skein to your left and over the other two colors every time you join a new color.
5. After you work a few rows of puff sts your foundation chain edge might look wavy, but that will get fixed when we add slip stitches in the border round.
