1. Round 1 of granny square completed
Round 1: With Taupe color yarn, ch 5, sl st to the first ch to form a chain ring, ch 3 (counts as a dc), working over the beginning tail, make 11 dc into the space in the middle of the ring, sl st to top of beginning ch 3, fasten off but do not turn. Pull yarn tail to make gap in the center small.——–12 dc
Note: For every following round you will work over the yarn tails to weave them in as you go. That is why we always start before the point of fastening off. I like to weave in half of the tail as we go and then weave in the rest later with a tapestry needle in the opposite direction.

2. Round 2 of granny square completed
Round 2: With the Baby Pink color, sl st to the st before the point of fastening off, ch 1, puff st in same st, puff st in next st and each st across to end, sl st to top of first puff st, fasten off but do not turn.—–12 puff sts

Make 19 more squares following the above pattern.
Joining the Granny Squares
First, join 4 squares to make a long strips. Then you can join the 5 long strips together.
To join, take two squares and keep the Right Side (beautiful side) touching. Whip stitch under only one of the loops of the sts on each square. I whip stitched over any tails to weave them in as well. Start and end at the corner spaces. Join 2 more squares to this piece to form a long strip.
Make 4 more strips of 4 squares each and join the 5 strips together using a whip stitch in the same manner. The blanket will now be 33″ wide and 38″ long.
